WODONGA Council is holding a community barbecue for residents and businesses to celebrate the commencement of works on the Elgin Boulevard realignment today.
The barbecue will be held from 4pm to 7pm on the north-west corner of Elgin Boulevard and High St.
Plans for the realignment will be on display and council staff will be available to discuss the plans and answer any questions.
“The Elgin Boulevard realignment is a crucial step in creating a city heart for Wodonga,” chief executive officer Patience Harrington said.
“Wodonga Council is committed to building a city heart that is attractive and functional for businesses, investors, residents and visitors.
“This is a very exciting time for the city with the development at Junction Place progressing and work starting on Mann’s Central.
“We encourage all Wodonga residents to continue to support the businesses in the central business area while the realignment works are taking place.”
